Founded in 1927 as a British School, St. George's School in Switzerland aims to combine its well-structured, traditional ethos with academic excellence in an international environment. St. George's School is a British International day school for boys and girls aged 3-18 with a boarding section for children from the age of 7. Situated between Vevey and Montreux, the current student body of350 pupils represents over 40 different nationalities. Although the language of instruction is English, French is introduced at an early age with the possibility of taking German, Spanish, Italian and Russian in the secondary school. Students for whom English is a foreign language receive special support with EFL classes at all year levels. St. George's offers the complete education – intellectual, cultural, physical and social. The school encourages academic excellence and high social standards while at the same time fostering individual talents in the arts and on the sports field.
