King’s College

Founded in 1969, King’s College is the largest British school in Spain and the first to have full UK accreditation through the Independent Schools Inspectorate. The school is a member of HMC, BSA, COBIS and NABSS.

King's College Soto de Viñuelas currently has 1350 boys and girls on roll from over 45 nationalities. Pupils follow the English National Curriculum and are prepared for (I)GCSE and GCE A Levels. Spanish is taught throughout the school. Entry is selective and academic standards high. Examination results are excellent and students go on to the best universities in Britain, Spain and worldwide.

The main school and Residence are located in a residential area 25km outside Madrid, but well connected to the city centre by motorway and rail. The extensive academic facilities include: seven science laboratories, three multi-media computer centres, two libraries, two music rooms, an art studio, an auditorium for 350 people and a Music School with six rooms for individual tuition. Plans are underway for a covered sports hall.Sports facilities include a gymnasium, 25-metre heated indoor swimming pool, football pitches, tennis courts and stables.

The Residence has capacity for 40 boys and girls of Secondary age (13 to 18 years) and is currently home from home to 20 students of 10 different nationalities, as well as four members of staff and their families. Most share rooms with en-suite bathrooms, under-floor heating and wireless internet access. From September 2011 there will be a brand new, purpose-built Residence within the school’s extensive grounds. The new building will offer a breakfast room, kitchen for pupil use, laundry, work room, lounge, TV room, storage and easy access to the new astroturf pitch and, in the future, the sports hall for evening activities.
